Wanderlei Silva wants to beat down Rampage at UFC 92

Wanderlei Silva used to be Quinton “Rampage” Jackson’s mentor when he was a young Padawan, showing him to how to use his Jedi powers as he grew into a young man. Then the evil emperor Palpatine took Rampage under his wing showing how to use the Dark side of his MMA powers. Oh, wait. That’s Star Wars. They actually just hate each other, a lot. Ever since Pride FC the two have waged war and talked smack about each other. In two fights Wanderlei Silva has left Rampage seeing stars after a variety of knees to the head and body.

Now Wanderlei Silva is already launching the first harsh words to Rampage, while speaking to UFC.com about their upcoming bout at UFC 92: The Ultimate 2008. Rampage actually had some very complimentary words about Silva, when asked about his arch-nemesis. Rampage predicted the bout will be fight of the year.

Will Rampage get his first win over Silva?

“Wanderlei is an exciting fighter with awesome skills,” Jackson was quoted by UFC.com. “I think this is going to be the fight of the year. Don’t miss it.”

Wanderlei Silva did not reiterate the same sentiments saying he can’t wait to beat Rampage down.

“I’m not fighting him for money – I’m fighting him for pure pleasure,” Silva said. “He talks bad about me on the Internet, yet he won’t talk bad to my face. I don’t like him and I can’t wait to beat him down at UFC 92.”

For any fans who have followed these two fighters and their rivalry throughout the past couple of years, this fight needs no hype. For those who are “NooBZ” and began watching later on down the line, stay tuned as we make sure we bring you every piece of trash talk these two can muster in the upcoming weeks as we count down the days to “MMA Christmas” on December 27.
