After a UFC 90 knockout loss to newcomer Junior ‘Cigano’ dos Santos in the first round of that fight, Fabricio Werdum not only lost his shot at becoming the next guy in line to get a UFC Heavyweight title shot once the smoke cleared on the upcoming tournament now Werdum is completely out of the UFC.
According to sources they have told MMAWeekly that Werdum and the UFC failed to reach on a new agreement sometime after his loss to ‘Cigano’ at UFC 90 and as mentioned earlier should Werdum had won the fight he would have been in the driver’s seat to get the next shot at the Heavyweight Championship after Randy Couture faced Brock Lesnar at UFC 91and Frank Mir took on Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira at UFC 92 with both of those winners facing each other for the undisputed UFC heavyweight title in early 2009.
Werdum who has an overall record of 11-4-1 went 2-2 in the UFC after a lackluster performance against former UFC Heavyweight Champion Andrei Arlovski at UFC 70, Werdum would win his next two fights with wins over Gabriel Gonzaga at UFC 80 in January and Brandon Vera at UFC 85 in June leading up to his fight with dos Santos who knocked him out in the very first minutes of the first round leaving him at this point to leave the promotion.
Since Werdum’s departure he has already been in talks with other promotions in the US and in Japan with the frontrunners being Affliction, Dream and Sengoku to be the likely destinations for the Chute Boxe trained fighter. We will keep you up to date on the status of where or who Werdum will signing on with to compete.

@ctroll22, You should have put a link up to reality Werdum was a big baby and has the charisma of a wet paper bag. He would have never beat Randy or Nog. He already lost to Nog and got blasted accross the ring with a left hook

HAHAHA. oh man, I’m torn I like(d) Werdum, but yeah, you can’t be calling shots when your ass just gets KTFO by a newcomer to UFC. He wasn’t sleeping, he just got beat by a better fighter.
Shit happens.
Him and Crocop need to get their heads on straight, stop the whining and start the ass kicking!
THAT’S WHEN YOU GET NOTICED!!!
Look at Rashad Evans. Hopefully come December he’ll beat up Forrest Gump, and then fight Rampage!!!
That would be an awesome fight!
