Amir talks injury
Many fans were disappointed when they found out earlier in the week that Ultimate Fighter season 7 winner Amir Sadollah was out of his bout at UFC 91 against Nick Catone. Now Amir is out of the hospital and wants to set the record straight with an apology to his fans who were looking forward to seeing his bout at UFC 91.
Amir wrote in his personal blog for Sucker Punch Entertainment an apology and a update for his fans.
“I really appreciate all the support you have sent my way and I am so sorry I am not able to fight this weekend. I trained harder for this than any other fight in my life and I was looking forward to this more than you know.
It started on friday with a small mark on my leg. I immediately went to the doctor and he gave me medication and told me if it got worse to go to the hospital. Well, it got worse and on Sunday I went in and have been here ever since. I am hoping they will discharge me by Thursday.
I am very sorry if I disappointed anyone. A lot of work by a lot of people went into this. For it to end with something totally out of my control makes it difficult to swallow. I will be back in the gym as soon as possible and will be ready to fight as soon as Joe Silva can get me back in.”
Many fans were disappointed that Sadollah was pulled from his fight so close to fight time and some even speculated that he already knew he would not make the fight. Stephan Bonnar gave some insight on MMA Live saying that he had previously sparred with the Ultimate Fighter winner and Sadollah did not believe the injury was serious. I also work in the Medical field and an infection and cross contamination is taken very seriously amongst Doctors, especially an infection that could spread to another fighter upon contact. Hopefully Amir’s injury is not serious and we will see him in the Octagon soon.

I was a fan of his during TUF b/c he was an underdog and frankly the other fighters were very unlikeable, the meathead Jess who kept pissing himself, and the other one CB Dolloway who acted like he deserved everything to be handed to him, and losing to Amir once, then his defiance saying he didn’t tap in the live rematch was pathetic.
Nothing against Amir now, but since he has fought, I’ve forgotten all about him till now, and I really doubt seeing him do what other past TUF winners have accomplished like Griffin, and Serra, and maybe Evans in December.
I think either he’ll have a so-so career, or a drop down in weight classes, or end up being like a Chad Pennington of mma.
@Emilio, I dont know CB is not a true 185 either but a lot of the guys Amir beat was and he did great against them. I dont want to see him drop to 170 and get dominated by wrestlers that drop from 190 any way that makes no sense
All the top guys at 170 are natural MW any way so he should stay put where he is now and try to compete in the weaker division instead fuck 170 Amir dont go
