Michael Bassiri who is the Attorney for Affliction co – owner Todd Beard talks about Kim Couture’s claims against his client’s criminal history and the claim that he threatened her.
Bassiri says in a interview with the OC Register that the complaints are all “complete nonsense”.
Also as part of the story on the OC Register it talks about Beard’s criminal past and say that he is scheduled to make an appearance in court for sentencing in Bellflower on Jan. 29 for misdemeanor criminal threats according to documents of the court.
Beard’s attorney says that the argument in that case resulted in an argument at a poker game with Beard pleading no contest to the charges and currently could face up to a year in prison should he violate the restraining order put on him in Las Vegas by Couture.
What is Affliction going to do now that Beard is in all kinds of legal trouble with the law? As my partner in crime (no pun intended) the Narcisist said in our featured content of the story the clothing/MMA promotion may have to cut ties with Beard and buy him out, so they could be able to move on to further MMA events in the future and keep the trust they have with their fighters. Stay tuned if any further details in the matter come to light.
