Overeem says he can beat Lesnar

As we all know Alistair Overeem is looking forward to his rematch in his new found hated rivalry with Mirko Cro Cop at the New Year’s Eve at the Fields K-1/Dream Dynamite card as the first bout between the two ended in a no contest due to Overeem who was dominating the fight repeatedly landed knees on the “Family jewels” of Cro Cop leading up to this point. However the “Demolition Man” had something to say about the new UFC Heavyweight champion of the world in Brock Lesnar.

In an exclusive interview with FiveOuncesOfPain.com, Overeem had some things to say on the ever improving Lesnar in his title fight with Randy Couture at UFC 91.

“It was a good performance but I see some weak spots in Brock’s game plan,” said Overeem. “Although I think he is a very interesting opponent, I’m looking forward to see more of Brock’s fights and seeing him develop more.”

However; when asked about taking a fight with Lesnar this is what Overeem had to say on the matter.

“Yes, and I do see myself defeating Brock Lesnar,” said Overeem.

Overeem throughout his career has been a streaky fighter, but as of late has found his niche in the Heavyweight division and is currently the Strikeforce Heavyweight champion and has beaten the likes of Paul Buentello, Mark Hunt and just recently Gary Goodridge.

What are Overeem's chances against this man?

But, in a fight with Lesnar is very hard to call now as the new UFC champ is looking more sharp with every fight that comes his way, so I wouldn’t bank on an Overeem win just yet. Overeem also did say that he would welcome a move to the UFC, but is still currently under contract with both Strikeforce and Dream.

Overeem really needs to watch his getting knocked out highlight reel and realize his limit and his place

and his place is as a stepping stool for good fighters
