McCrory (inset) to possibly face Goulet at UFC 97
A Welterweight tilt is in the works between Jonathan Goulet and Tamdan McCrory for April at UFC 97 in Montreal, Canada. Goulet and McCrory are both pretty tall fighters for the 170 pound weight class, but could be in the making for a very good fight on the feet as both can be very explosive with their striking.
According to Sherdog.com, Goulet who is a native of Canada was approachedby the organization on the possible bout, but first Goulet must get medical clearance after being pummeled in his last fight against a resurgent Mike Swick at the UFC Fight for the Troops card this past December.
Before the loss to Swick, Goulet was previously on a two win streak inside the Octagon with wins over Paul Georgieff at The Ultimate Fighter 6 finale in December of 2007 and Kuniyoshi Hironaka at UFC 83 which was also in Montreal, Canada this past April. Now Goulet must find a way to get back on the winning track if he wants to continue fighting for the UFC.
As for McCrory, he is 2-2 with the UFC with 10 victories overall, but was recently submitted by fellow BJJ ace Dustin Hazelett this past November at UFC 91. McCrory will also be looking to get ahead in the UFC’s Welterweight by notching himself another victory over Goulet. This fight is far from official, but we will keep you posted if Goulet gets clearance to take this fight from the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada.
Pumbled is an under statement for Goulet he got fucked up
