Ryan Bader will return to action for the first time since winning the Light Heavyweight contract from Vinny Magalhaes at The Ultimate Fighter season finale by technical knockout. Bader will face off against UFC veteran Carmelo Marrero at Ultimate Fight Night 18.
FiveOuncesofPain.com’s Sam Caplan (who’s Eagles beat my Giants yesterday) had the scoop on the potential bout for the April event.
This will be Carmelo Marrero’s (10-2) second tour with the UFC, his last fight with the promotion was against Wilson Gouveia which he lost by submission (RNC) back at UFC 71. Marrero began his UFC career as a Heavyweight and owns a decision victory over Cheick Kongo, but dropped to Light Heavyweight as it was evident in his fight against Gabriel Gonzaga that he was not big enough for the weight class. He has spent his time gaining experience and has won 4 straight fights in the IFL and WEC, now he will get another chance to prove he belongs with MMA’s best 205 pound fighters again.
We will find out who will win come Ultimate Fight Night 18 on April 1, which is rumored to be taking place in Nashville, Tennessee.
easy win for Bader I just hope he doesnt LNP on him the whole fight
