MacDonald to compete at UFC 97
More future UFC event news comes to light as Middleweight fighter Jason “The Athlete” MacDonald is expected to make his return for UFC 97 at the Bell Centre from Montreal, Canada in the month of April. MacDonald is another native of Canada who will be added to the card along with fellow countrymen David Loiseau, Mark Bocek and newcomer TJ Grant who just signed with the organization.
In a recent blog post from sportsnet.ca MacDonald made his intentions known on the UFC 97 card just north of the border.
MacDonald has lost 2 of his last 3 fights when he lost in a pretty hard fought Jiu Jitsu battle with top level grappler Demian Maia back at UFC 87 this past August and rebounded with a submission victory over Jason Lambert at UFC 88 a month after, but lost in his most recent fight with Wilson Gouveia at The Ultimate Fighter finale last month, so MacDonald is in a must win situation in his next fight whoever it may be and must be impressive.
However; MacDonald has been able to put up very strong performances in the bouts that he has won, so hopefully that will continue to happen for “The Athlete”. We at URDirt.com will keep you posted as to the UFC will give MacDonald as an opponent for the upcoming Canada event as they are currently in the process of seeking out an opponent for the Edmonton, Alberta, Canada native.
