After starting off the new year in trouble with the law, UFC Lightweight Josh “The Dentist” Neer was not sure if he was going to be able to compete in his next scheduled bout with Mac Danzig at UFC Fight Night 17 just a few weeks ago, but the UFC has decided to keep him on board and that made a difference as he was very impressive in his win over the former Ultimate Fighter season 6 winner. Now the UFC has rewarded Neer with a new deal to stay within the promotion.

According to Neer’s manager Mickey Dubberly of KO Dynasty tells MMAJunkie.com that his client has sign a new 4 fight deal with the UFC, but financial terms were not disclosed.

After a couple of stints with the UFC going just 2-3, Neer posted a 6-1 record outside the promotion and was given another opportunity to display his talents and has since gone 2-1 inside the Octagon with wins over Danzig and Din Thomas back at UFC Fight Night 13 last April to go along with a hard fought split decision loss to Nate Diaz at UFC Fight Night 15 this past September.

In his win over Mac Danzig just a few weeks ago in Tampa Bay, Florida at UFC Fight Night 17, Neer earned an extra $30,000 for “Fight of the Night” which ended in the second round when “The Dentist” caught Danzig in a Triangle choke submission for the win.

There has been no word as to when he will be facing for his next fight at this time.
