Mauricio “Shogun” Rua knows that his performance at UFC 93 was not the one his fans were expecting to see when thinking about his glory days of Pride. Never the less he won his fight against his rival Mark Coleman and will face off against Chuck Liddell at UFC 97. Rua says he has improved his cardio and guarantees he “will win this fight” against Liddell.
Tatame.com spoke to Rua in a new interview who said he is making the necessary steps to defeat Liddell and made a bold statement.
It is hard to believe that both Liddell and Rua are fighting at UFC 97 and there are really no title implications. 2 years ago both Liddell and Rua were the most feared fighters in the division. It is a tribute to how fast MMA fighters evolve when you think of the difference those two years have made.
We will find out at UFC 97 “Redemption” who will get back on track and who will be one step closer to reevaluating their career.
Shogun looked like crap at 93 if he looks like that the iceman is going to put him to sleep fast
War Shogun kick old man chucks ass
Anyone else see Shogun against Coleman he was eating donuts in between rounds and smoking cigarettes too he gassed and the ref gave him the win Coleman was winning
Lol
Someone needs to buy Shogun a treadmill and a boflex so he can win this one
If this guy had the gas he would be one of the greatest. It was disgusting watching him fight Coleman, I wanted to cry.
If Shogun doesn’t come in optimal conditions, is going to be a long night for him. Lights out!
