Another matchup that is being mentioned for the upcoming Ultimate Fighter finale is a UFC Welterweight bout between “Bad” Brad Blackburn and Edgar Garcia for the June 20 event from the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada.
In a report out of FiveOuncesOfPain.com say that they were told by sources close to the bout.
During the Summer of 2008, Blackburn (13-9-1) came over to the UFC from the fledgling IFL promotion and has gone 2-0 inside the Octagon with wins over James Giboo at UFC Fight Night 14 last July and followed it up with a unanimous decision victory over former PRIDE veteran Ryo Chonan at UFC 92 in the month of December and will now be looking to make it a third straight win with the UFC.
As for Garcia, he comes over from the UFC’s sister promotion in the WEC and has compiled an overall MMA record of 7-0 and was also a winner in his last bout at WEC 38 with a win over Hiromitsu Miura and will also be looking to open up eyes in his Octagon debut as well as keeping his unblemished record intact against a tough opponent in Blackburn.
The Ultimate Fighter finale will also feature two Lightweight bouts with Joe Stevenson taking on Nate Diaz and Diego Sanchez taking on Clay Guida. We will keep you posted on other matchups when more announcements come to surface.
