Coleman not yet offered Bonnar fight for UFC 100

Last week there was a report that Stephan Bonnar was booked to face Hall of Famer Mark Coleman at the historic UFC 100 card in the month of July and while a guest on ESPN’s MMA Live Thursday afternoon, Bonnar even confirmed that he was set to face “The Hammer” for the event, but Coleman says that he has not yet been offered by the UFC to take on “The American Psycho” as of yet.

In a report out of MMAjunkie.com Coleman says that the UFC has not yet offered a fight to face Bonnar even though the former Ultimate Fighter season 1 finalist has confirmed the future bout.

“I’ve heard about the possibilities, but I haven’t been offered the fight,” Coleman said.

Meanwhile; Bonnar who has already signed a bout agreement is just waiting now for Coleman to sign on the dotted line to make the matchup official.

“A couple of weeks ago, talking with (UFC matchmaker) Joe Silva and my agent, they mentioned the fight and I said, ‘Hey, I’m game. I like the fight,’” Bonnar said. “Really, I guess Coleman just has to get his contract in order, sign the papers, and then it will be set.”

Even though Coleman is yet to sign the agreement to face Bonnar or get word from UFC match maker Joe Silva, he says that when it does get offered he will gladly accept.

“If that’s the case, that sounds great and awesome to me,” Coleman said. “I’ll fight him today, but officially I haven’t heard anything from Joe Silva. So, I accept. I hope it’s true.”

“UFC 100, that would be great – Stephan Bonnar, the whole deal. But I haven’t been contacted by Joe yet and I haven’t signed any papers. I’m ready to sign them. I just haven’t been contacted. I’m hoping the rumors come true.”

Once the bout is official each man will be looking to bounce back from losses after making their returns to the Octagon with Coleman having his first fight in over 2 years and coming up just short to Mauricio “Shogun” Rua back at UFC 93 and Bonnar just getting outworked by young up and comer Jon Jones at UFC 94 coming off of a knee injury that kept him out for almost a year. We will keep you posted as soon as a bout agreement has been signed, sealed and delivered by Coleman in the near future.

@Serial, Agreed. If anything put Coleman in with Couture and they can do a Losers leaves MMA match. Personally Im sick of the hype of both Coleman and Couture. Other then both being vets they are both mediocre at best imo. Hell just look at their records. Shit at least Coleman made a go at Fedor. Couture just talked and balked at it. He should have just did his few remaining fights way back when an would have been taking on Feds at Affliction 3..Either way hope the Psycho takes it to the Bum
