TUF 9 finale: Anthony Johnson vs Matt Brown

A few weeks ago a report surfaced that Anthony Johnson would face off against John Howard at The Ultimate Fighter season 9 finale. A few days after that report surfaced, Johnson revealed during a radio interview that Howard did not sign their bout agreement because he did not feel he was ready for the challenge. Luckily for us “The Immortal” Matt Brown did feel up to the task of facing Johnson at The Ultimate Fighter season 9 finale.

MMAWeekly.com reported the bout, but props go out to the always beautiful, sexy and gorgeous Miss RARA on the find.

Anthony “Rumble” Johnson (7-2) has won three of his last four bouts

and all three wins have come by way of knockout. Johnson’s striking skills have grown more and more dangerous as he has fine tuned his skills with StrikeForce Middleweight champion Cung Le in the Gym. Johnson showed off  those improved striking skills in his most recent victory over Luigi Fioravanti at The Ultimate Fighter season 8 finale.

Matt “The Immortal” Brown (9-7) has also shown improvement since his stint on The Ultimate Fighter season 7 and has also won three of his last four fights coming into the potential bout against Johnson. His most recent victory came at UFC 96 against Pete “Drago” Sell by TKO in a controversial bout that many people felt should have been stopped earlier by referee Yves Lavigne.

On paper Johnson should have the advantage, but Brown has showed he has a big heart and can also land a punch that will finish his opponents at any moment. This should prove to be one of the night’s most interesting bouts as both fighters look to move into contention in the UFC Welterweight division.

I like AJ but Brown has power and this seems like a fight that’s made for him to win

  2. DanNo Gravatar says:

ok, Matt Brown has one spectacular win and all of sudden he is top contender. AJ will destroy him. AJ belongs in the level of Jon Fitch or Josh….or Paulo Thiago…J/K. AJ should fight Jon Fitch, That would be a good fight to see.

Easy win for AJ this won’t go passed the first round
