BJ Penn will defend Lightweight championship against Kenny Florian at UFC 101 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in August

After suffering a tough loss to UFC Welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre back at UFC 94 in the month of January BJ Penn decided to file a formal complaint with the NSAC which started the whole “Vaseline Gate” scandal, but nothing was resolved and St-Pierre along with his cornermen were not punished with anything.
Earlier today in his own personal website at BJPenn.com BJ has agreed to get back into action and face the number 1 contender to his UFC Lightweight championship in Kenny Florian at UFC 101 at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on August 8. Now that nothing got resolved with the whole greasing situation, Penn knew it was time to just move on and continue his reign as the best Lightweight fighter in the planet.
However; BJ will face a tough challenger and a threat to his title in Florian who has reeled off 6 straight victories inside the Octagon after losing in his first Lightweight title opportunity to Sean Sherk back at UFC 64 in October of 2006 and will now get another shot at becoming the champion once again.
This fight has been rumored to take place for quite sometime now, but it was earlier in the week when UFC CEO Lorenzo Fertitta said that they were in the process of getting this fight done for this event and now it seems that the organization has delivered as Florian already has signed the bout agreement on the dotted line and the agreement for BJ is being distributed and should signed very soon.
Also expected to possibly take place on the UFC 101 card is a high profile Light Heavyweight match-up with former champ Forrest Griffin making his return from a hand injury to face the always dangerous Thiago Silva as a potential co-main event bout.
ITs about fucking time!! BJ is fighting for reals no fighting the ghost of christmas past in the peoples court FINALLY!!!
