After talks of adding a Heavyweight bout to the UFC 99 main card now it has appeared that Cain Velasquez (5-0) will indeed meet Heath Herring (28-14) on the 13th of June in Cologne, Germany as the organization has made that bout official. This match-up will be the toughest test to date for Velasquez.
According to the UK version of UFC.com the Heavyweight bout has been listed as confirmed as to the US version of the site shows that the UFC 99 card is not currently being displayed.
There was a Rumor stating that Herring had pulled out of the card due to a knee injury and was being replaced by Junior Dos Santos, but my guess is that was exactly what is was told to be which is a rumor.
Velasquez will attempt to keep his unblemished record intact when going toe to toe with the “Texas Crazy Horse” and go for his fourth staright win inside the Octagon after finishing off newcomer Denis Stojnic back at UFC Fight Night 17 this past February and finishing all five of his career fights by way of the T/KO variety.
Meanwhile Herring on the other hand is looking to bounce back with a strong showing after taking a beating from current UFC Heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar at UFC 87 in the month of August which put him on the shelf for quite sometime after suffering a broken orbital bone during the bout and will now look to give the young Velasquez a taste of defeat for the first time in his career.
The UFC 99 card will hold a 195 pound catch weight with Rich Franklin taking on Wanderlei Silva in the main event of the evening.
so much for that BS rumor that he was going to fight Dos Santos, I would have liked to see that fight happen too

*YAWN* I dont give two shits about HH fighting. Velasquez is going to maul him. This fight would’ve been 1000x more interesting had it been Cane vs Dos Santos.
