The Ultimate Fighting Championship wasted no time with their centennial UFC 100 event for July 11 as the main card has been rounded with another Welterweight matchup putting top contender Jon Fitch taking on the undefeated Brazilian Paulo Thiago. Also an extra Lightweight bout has been added to the undercard portion of the big show as former Ultimate Fighter season 6 winner Mac Danzig will be going up against Jim Miller running up the card to a total of 11 fights overall.

The matchups which were made official at the UFC’s official website will be taking place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

After having troubles due to a merchandising agreement Jon Fitch was released by the UFC only to be brought back 24 hours later, but was then able to earn a unanimous decision victory over Akihiro Gono at UFC 94 and was rewarded with a new contract extension by the organization as well.

Paulo Thiago on the other hand made some waves when he knocked out Fitch’s teammate Josh Koscheck this past February and will now look to make it a second straight victory over an American Kickboxing Academy fighter at UFC 100.

In the Lightweight bout both Mac Danzig and Jim Miller will be looking to put on better performances after Danzig has lost his last two with his most recent coming in a submission defeat to Josh Neer at UFC Fight Night 17 in February while Miller lost his first bout inside the Octagon last month to Gray Maynard at UFC 96. A win would help either fighter get put back in contention, but a loss to Miller would push him further down the ladder and a loss to Danzig could put him in jeopardy of losing his spot on the UFC roster.

The UFC 100 historic event will have two championship bouts on the line as Brock Lesnar and Frank Mir will be competing for the undisputed Heavyweight championship while Georges St-Pierre will be defending his Welterweight title in his third defense against Thiago Alves who has won his last seven UFC bouts to get to this point.
