Another Light Heavyweight bout that will be taking place on the UFC 97 main card will be a pair of talented strikers as former WEC Light Heavyweight champion Steve Cantwell will be going toe to toe with Luiz “Banha” Cane as both men look to become a growing threat within the promotion’s deepest weight class. For Cane he will be looking to finish his third straight fight inside the Octagon in hopes of competing a top the division amongst the other elite fighters.
In a new interview with MMAjunkie.com Cane says that this fight with Cantwell as it he explains would put him on his way to facing tougher opponents.
Banha was then asked about his UFC 97 counterpart in Steve Cantwell who like Cane is a heavy hitter, but doesn’t seem to be so worried about all of that either.
“I am accustomed to being faced with hard hitters, so I won’t be intimidated. But who knows? It’s MMA, so maybe I’ll get the chance to show my ground game.”
Nonetheless, Cane somewhat predicts the bout to be a very exciting matchup for the fans to see and also feels that the fight will not go the distance.
The UFC 97 card is very well stacked from top to bottom and should be one hell of a night for fast paced non-stop action.
Cane is going to make his run for a title soon remember who was on the bandwagon first
