After having to skip a fight with Jeremy Stephens earlier this month at UFC Fight Night 18 due to a rib injury, former Ultimate Fighter season 8 Lightweight winner Efrain Escudero says that his next fight inside the Octagon will come against Cole Miller sometime in September for UFC 103.
According to a report by MMAMadness.com the news was confirmed by Escudero himself by way of a live chat on his personal website, but the bout has not yet been confirmed by either Miller or by the UFC at this time.
Escudero has not competed since winning the six figure contract from the UFC at The Ultimate Fighter finale last December when he took a unanimous decision victory over fellow TUF contestant and teammate Phillipe Nover.
Meanwhile Miller has won his second straight fight by submission as he was able to take care of another Ultimate Fighter season 8 Lightweight in the controversial Junie Browning and will be looking to pick up a third straight victory over the unbeaten Escudero.
However; Miller pleaded with matchmaker Joe Silva after his win over Browning that he wanted the Spencer Fisher/Caol Uno winner at UFC 99, so we will keep you posted if this matchup ever comes to play or the UFC goes in another route as soon as we get word on the matter.
