It looks like there is an answer as to who Nick Diaz will be facing after his big win over Frank Shamrock earlier this month as he will be facing another Middleweight fighter in Scott Smith who pulled off a dramatic knockout victory over Benji Radach at the same April 11 card for StrikeForce’s next big event on June 6th from the Scottrade Center in Saint Louis, Missouri.
Report first came out The Carmichael Dave show on his website over at1140 AM KHTK, but has now been confirmed by FiveOuncesOfPain.com according to sources close to both fighters camps.
Diaz is coming into his own while compiling a win streak that is now at four straight and a win over Smith could possibly put him in the driver’s seat for a potential Middleweight title fight a championship that is currently held by Cung Le whom Diaz called “incomplete”.
Smith on the other hand could also make a case for a Middleweight championship bout with a statement win over Diaz after almost being defeated by Benji Radach where he pulled off an overhand right to gain the win giving him his second straight decision after knocking out Terry Martin in his Strikeforce debut last November.
The bout could also be possibly contested at a catchweight of 179 pounds just like Diazfight with Frank Shamrock, but we will keep you posted on further details on the upcoming bout.
Ah come on..at a catchweight? so we have to create a weight just for Diaz? Is he going to step it up to 185?

Diaz takes this easily. As long as he can stay away from Smith’s haymakers.
