Earlier today we put up the UFC 102: Rumored and Confirmed Bouts on the featured section of our front page and now a Heavyweight bout is expected to be added as Gabriel Gonzaga is slated to return to action against newcomer Chris Tuchscherer at the August 29 event which is tentatively scheduled to take place in Portland, Oregon.

According to MMAWeekly.com multiple sources confirm that both fighters have agreed to the matchup, but it was not yet confirmed if the two have signed off on bout agreements.

Gabriel Gonzaga (10-4) would have been in line for yet another shot at the Heavyweight championship, but unfortunately took a short compact right hand from Shane Carwin at UFC 96 this past March to derail those chances and will now have to climb the ladder once again in order to get back into title contention once again.

Meanwhile Chris Tuchscherer holds a career MMA record of 17-1 and is a training partner of current UFC Heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar at the Minnesota Martial Arts Academy. It was said that Tuchscherer had tried out for the upcoming tenth season of The Ultimate Fighter, but due to his experience as a Mixed Martial Artist and was given the opportunity to compete for the organization and holds notable wins over other UFC fighters past and present such as Krzysztof Soszynski, Branden Lee Hinkle and Travis Fulton.

UFC 102 is expected to also feature a Heavyweight main event matchup with former champions Randy Couture set to go one on one against Antonio “Minotauro” Nogueira.
