As we all know current Middleweight champion Anderson Silva will get right back inside the Octagon at UFC 101 in the month of August following his lackluster win over Thales Leites last month at UFC 97 and will now move up in weight to face former Light Heavyweight champion and Ultimate Fighter 1 winner Forrest Griffin. Josuel Distak who is the Boxing coach of ‘The Spider’ believes that this will be a “good” fight for him and will be a “terrible” fight for Forrest.
While speaking with Sherdog.com Distak who works with other notable Brazilian fighters such as Rafael ‘Feijao’ Cavalcante, Andre Galvao and Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza feels that criticism on Silva makes him stronger which lead to UFC President Dana White to make the bout with Griffin happen.
Distak was then asked why he thought the fight was going to be a terrible matchup for Griffin and replies that is how other opponents have been beaten when facing Silva inside the Octagon.
Later on in the interview Distak is then asked if Silva will have pressure facing one of the top guys in the UFC Light Heavyweight division where the coach says that this fight will wake him up and fans will get to see the Anderson Silva of old.
Distak makes a valid point on other opponents bringing or trying to bring the fight to Anderson, but Forrest usually brings a different style of as far as pressing the fight as he mixes it up with his leg kicks and punches, so it is still going to be interesting to see how the fight will play out.
Some how I doubt thay Anderson will be dumb enough to fall into Forrest Griffins game and let him make it past the 3rd round
we sure as shit better see a better anderson he is getting boring
