Here is a really weird little thing missing from UFC 2009 Undisputed; no left handed fighters. According to several fans on message boards who have got their hands on the game early left handed fighters stand in an orthodox position.

While this may not seem like a big deal to most of you this is an issue that is not resolved it may ruin the game for left handed people like myself. But, also remember this can also be easily fixed with a patch from THQ. I saw a post on the UnderGround forums from a fan who said the detail was a big missing piece of the game overall. I also looked further and found that fans on Sherdog’s message boards had come to the same conclusion as well.

I will be honest I have played the demo and I did not seem to have a problem playing as Chuck Liddell or Mauricio “Shogun” Rua who both stand orthodox. The timing is not hard to master and the flow of the striking is one of the bright spots when playing the game.

But, hardcore gamers and MMA fans seem to have a big problem with the fact that fighters like Kenny Florian, Anderson Silva and Lyoto Machida do not switch into the South Paw stance. Most fans want as much realism as possible, this would be a big detail to miss.

When the game is released in 4 days we will find out how much this effects the game overall. I will look into this a bit more and see what I uncover when looking at the old gameplay trailers.

man this is so gay no left handed fighter i’m fuckin lefty and this is bullshit I new EA sports should have taken on this game they have so much more experience in the fighting simulating games look at fight night the best and most realistic fighting simulator to date it’s a shame that they didn’t take on the ufc franchise oh well guess i’ll have to wait for round 4 fight night and i hope ea sports buys out thq for the ufc because let’s face it they just can’t live up to the hype

Don’t think it’s a big deal? Must be a right hander then… It seems that as long as it doesn’t affect the majority, people usually have no problem with it. The game may be great; however, I’m left handed… And I want a left handed fighter. The brain works totally different left to right. This is a horrid oversight on the part of the EA development team.

its a big deal because they were all talking about how this ufc game was going to be incredibly detailed.
