Rashad Evans and Lyoto Machida are very technical fighters and at UFC 98, the whole fight can come down to one mistake from either fighter. Rashad Evans knows that and has been looking for holes in Lyoto Machida’s game. Machida on the other hand has said in previous interviews that he sees weaknesses in Evans game. Now Evans says that he sees holes in Machida’s game and he plans on exploiting them.
FightHype.com interviewed Evans and asked him if he has found any weaknesses in the challenger’s game.
“I’ve definitely found some weaknesses. When your watching Lyoto, he’s very technical, but at the same time, he’s a fighter much like myself that gets better with every fight and continues to improve. Just like he said he’s found weaknesses in my game, I’ve definitely found some in his”.Evans also spoke about how he intends to deal with Lyoto Machida’s movement and says he intends on making him look real ugly when they meet on Saturday.
It looks like Evans is not going to make the same mistake that Thiago Silva made at UFC 94 against Machida. Thiago Silva ran in with reckless abandon and constantly got caught by counter punches while attempting to engage Machida. Evans on the other hand has one ability that could be the “Ace in the Deck” which is his wrestling.
We will have to find out at UFC 98 when Rashad Evans defends his title for the first time against Lyoto Machida, who’s style and gameplan will keep them undefeated and leaving the Octagon with gold around their waist.
