In a video interview with Cagewriter Steve Cofield former UFC Lightweight champion Sean Sherk talks about his UFC 98 matchup against Frankie Edgar and what it is going to take to get back into contender’s status. ‘The Muscle Shark’ also discusses the Lightweight ranking system and why other fighters such as Kenny Florian (who he beat at UFC 64) and Shinya Aoki are ranked higher than he is.

Here is a quote that Sherk said during the interview with Steve Cofield:

“There are guys ranked above me, that I’ve seen, that I know damn well I can beat. Rankings don’t mean squat. (Shinya) Aoki is a good example. He’s a big 155 pounder but he’s got no boxing, no wrestling. Where does that leave you in the UFC? You can’t wear pants, so guess what? You’re in some trouble. I’d like to see a lot of those guys come here and I think eventually they will.”
