Internet sensation and former EliteXC fighter Kimbo Slice makes TUF 10 which will now be titled “Heavyweights”….
After months of being out of MMA action and suffering the first loss of his career against Seth Petruzelli at EliteXC “HEAT” last October it now appears that Kevin ‘Kimbo Slice’ Ferguson has made headlines once again as he will be among 16 other Heavyweights fighters vying for a six figure UFC contract on The Ultimate Fighter season 10 which will be titled “Heavyweights” with coaches and former Light Heavyweight champions Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson and ‘Sugar’ Rashad Evans which of course will be on Spike.
Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports confirmed the news as he spoke to UFC President Dana White who has bashed Kimbo ever since making his MMA debut back in October of 2007 who said that his Lightweight champion BJ Penn “annihilate” him in a fight as well as even saying that former WEC Featherweight champion Urijah Faber would do the same as well.
However, Dana did say that in order for the former Miami street brawler to ever fight in the UFC would have to make it by competing on the popular reality series and now it has become a true reality and will be interesting to see how it all plays out according to White.
With the addition of Slice being amongst one of the fighters 16 fighters living in the Ultimate Fighter house in Las Vegas and the feud between Rampage and Rashad should boast huge ratings on Spike as Kimbo was a force in the ratings department while competing the EliteXC banner on CBS where his match against James ‘The Colossus’ Thompson on May 31, 2008 drew 6.5 million viewers and making it the most viewed MMA fight on national television and could possibly do the same should he make it all the way to the finale as a finalist.
But Dana White was trying to hold onto the news until Tuesday when reporters where to come to the UFC training facility in Las Vegas, Nevada.
As far as the show goes it was originally slated to be Middleweights along with Heavyweights, but apparently the UFC informed the 185 pounders that the show would consist of only Heavyweight fighters leading to the name of the show to be called “The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights” and this season will not have the format of contestants fighting their way into the TUF house as well.
I guess this was going to be apart of Dana White’s “Insane announcement” as the show also begins filming on Tuesday (what a coincidence, right?). Stay tuned for further details as Dana White lets us know what else is in store for UFC fans.
This is crazy after all the shit Dana talked this is going to be interesting to see how he treats Kimbo. Do you think the UFC will protect him or feed him to the fire right away?

I don’t know, we’re going to find out how serious Kimbo is…Bas dropped him from his camp, because he wouldn’t train properly… But IF he makes it thru TUF, he’s earned his shot. THAT being said, I don’t think there is any way in hell that he makes it out alive. He gets beat in his 2nd fight, IF he doesn’t get taunted into a backyard brawl first hahaha
I think there is nothing Dana White would like more, than to say “I told you so, he can’t even make it out against amateurs…”

Dana White is smart man. He knows good promotion and this is huge.
The ratings for TUF will be off the charts.
UFC will promote the shit out of this.
We will see if Kimbo is serious. Either way I will be watching.

[...] not too long ago that Kimbo Slice had thrown his name in the mix to compete for a UFC contract via The Ultimate Fighter season 10 and it appears to show that he is fully rededicated to competing in Mixed Martial Arts once again [...]

@mantle, kimbo has to do something other than look like a turd that has been rolled around on the floor of a barber shop, before i stop bashing him. the dude does not deserve respect, every pro fight we’ve seen him in has been set up and he even ducked people like joe riggs (a smaller opponent) before his pro career started. he’s a fag until he does something to prove other wise.

kimbos a bitch. he can beat on people with no training, but when it comes to real mma fights, hes a fake. dana’s right in sayin faber and penn would destroy kimbo. and on a different note, even the heavywieghts should earn their way in the house. why should they get special treatment?
