After two unsuccessful outings inside the Octagon at UFC 97 and UFC 98 Xavier Foupa-Pokam also known as ‘Professor X’ has been given his walking papers from the organization after being knocked out in :37 seconds against the hard hitting Drew McFedries at UFC 98 just a few weeks back.
The release of Foupa-Pokam was confirmed to FiveOuncesOfPain.com by his manager, Ken Pavia.
Foupa-Pokam (20-11) was signed by the UFC sometime in the month of February and was previously riding a seven fight winning streak which was snapped in his Octagon debut in a unanimous decision defeat by former PRIDE veteran Denis Kang at UFC 97 and made the quick turnaround by accepting to step in for an injured James Irvin to face McFedries just a month later at UFC 98 and has now been let go by the UFC after two quick losses.
Now Professor X will have to put on another string of victories together once again outside of the promotion in a possible occurence of making it back to the UFC someday, but would also have to put together a ground game which is not apart of his good stand up striking abilities as well.
