Mostapha Al-Turk (6-4) who is a former Cage Rage champion drew Heavyweight contender Cheick Kongo in his Octagon debut this past December at UFC 92 and suffered a vicious first round TKO defeat and now his second test will now be against the returning Mirko Cro Cop (24-6-2) at UFC 99 in Cologne, Germany on June 13. Even though, Al-Turk was originally scheduled to face newcomer Todd Duffee is not about to back down from a challenge against the former 2006 PRIDE open-weight grand prix champion.
In a recent interview with Fighters Only Magazine Al-Turk who took the fight on a little over three weeks notice felt that it was his time to make his impact in the UFC Heavyweight division starting with Cro Cop.
And by studying Cro Cop in previous fights, Al-Turk believes he has the right formula to take the Croatian striker out.
A very confident Al-Turk could mean trouble for Mirko, but Cro Cop is also coming back to the UFC with a full steam of confidence as well after having successful surgery done on his knee which he has said has made him feel like a new man and at UFC 99 we will see as to know which fighter will have that extra edge tobe victorious.
Crocop is not proving anything in my eyes until he beats someone good, if he wins here its not a big deal
No way Mirko is gonna win. He has no heart. The first sign of adversity & he folds.
If Mustapha puts the heat on he’ll get the W.
