Following the UFC 99 event from Cologne, Germany this past weekend reports have been swirling around that Mirko Cro Cop has jumped ship from the UFC to go back to Japan by signing a new three fight deal with DREAM. However, upon his return to his home country of Croatia the former PRIDE open-weight grand prix champion says that he has not signed a deal with either DREAM or the UFC and is still looking for an offer.

In a recent interview with Croatian website Jutarnji.hr Cro Cop explains that he has signed with neither promotion and is ready to listen to any offer for his services and also added that UFC President Dana White should have talked to him instead of listening to the rumors of him splitting for Japan and DREAM.

(Translation from Google a little rough)

“I’m not clear why White listened on rumors instead of talking with me. I was hoping that we will talk about the continuation of cooperation, because the only contentious item for a long period between performances. I do not want to sit for months at home and wait for that someone called me to fight. However, I am grateful for the opportunity White in Cologne and in spite of his heavy words, I do not see reason to not prolong agreement” – explained Mirko after returning from Germany.

It is believed to be said that Cro Cop was to compete inside the Octagon two more times under the verbal agreement between himself and Dana White, but the offer from DREAM has been lingering around for quite sometime now, so hopefully during the week something can be resolved in all of this whether something has been said from either the UFC, DREAM or Mirko Cro Cop himself if this somehow happens to be the case.

Idk what to think any more? But I do remember hearing he had already resigned with dream before he signed with the UFC

  2. Rider917No Gravatar says:

I heard he had to win at UFC 99 just to get a fight at Dream and already signed with them

  3. NarcisistNo Gravatar says:

No one really knows for sure at this point, all we know for sure is he is not signed on paper to the UFC.

Until Dana or Mirko make an official announcementnothing is confirmed.

It looks more and more to me that he was using this “one time fight deal” and DREAM as leverage towards contract negotiations… He is now trying to raise the ante on any offers from either company. Not a bad idea if that was what he was trying to do. The only problem with that is that Dana and his ego do not like games like this and it could come back to bite Crocop in the end. We will see.
