The August 15 StrikeForce “Carano vs Cyborg” is starting to add depth with the addition of the Nick Diaz vs Joe Riggs Welterweight bout now Diaz Cesar Gracie teammate Jake Shields is in talks to meet up against Affliction’s Matt Lindland as it appears that Shields will remain at around 185 pounds.
AroundTheOctagon.com reports that Shields who is still looking for bigger fights will remain at the Middleweight range and possibly face Lindland for his next fight.
Shields (23-4) made his StrikeForce debut at the June 6 show in St. Louis show where he submitted Robbie Lawler in the main event and totaling his current winning streak at 12 straight fights dating back to November of 2005.
Lindland (21-6) on the other hand was on the receiving end of a 37 second knockout loss to Vitor Belfort at Affliction “Day of Reckoning” this past January and will not be apart of the upcoming Affliction “Trilogy” card on August 1, but would be a great addition for StrikeForce’s next event if the matchup becomes a reality.
We will keep you posted on any other details regarding the August 15 event from the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California which will also air live on Showtime.
What I meant to say is OMFG you mean Matt Lindlands still alive after Vitor almost killed him?
