While going 2-1 inside the Octagon the UFC has opted to give Middleweight Rob Kimmons a new four fight deal to remain with the organization for a longer period of time after competing mainly in regional shows throughout the midwest along with the now defunct International Fight League (IFL).
Kimmons who holds a career MMA record of 22-4 accepted the deal earlier today as a source close to the Middleweight told MMAjunkie.com of the news.
In three fights with the UFC Kimmons debuted at The Ultimate Fighter season 7 finale last June where he submitted Rob Yundt with a first round guillotine choke in the first round then lost in his second appearance at UFC 90 to Dan Miller by first round submission (Rear naked choke), but most recently defeated Joe Vedepo at UFC Fight Night 18 this past April with a technical first round guillotine choke submission for the win.
Kimmons four career losses have all come to UFC veterans past and present like Joe Riggs, Marvin Eastman, Ryan Jensen and Dan Miller. No word as to when Kimmons will make a return to the Octagon at this point.
