We all have waited for Chuck Liddell to make his decision whether to retire or continue fighting in the UFC. There was speculation and rumors that he would return to face off against Rich Franklin at UFC 103, but those rumors seem to be unlikely.

Now Liddell tells SportsIllustrated.com that he has not made a decision, but says he plans on sitting out “for at least a year or so, just to let my head rest.”

“I haven’t personally made a decision one way or the other.”
“Hopefully my brain can heal over time,” he continued. “The shot last fight is something that normally wouldn’t hurt me. I think I need at least some time off from getting hit. I’m going to take time off sparring then. I’ll train still. Still gonna roll. I’ll probably do a little more jiu-jitsu than normal because I like it. It’s fun.”

We have to be honest that we have noticed Liddell’s speech slur more over the course of the past few years. Maybe this decision to wait is for the best, no one wants to see “The Iceman” suffer from the same ailments that many of our Boxers from the past have sustained.

We will keep you posted as soon as we hear what Chuck’s decision is on his career.

I agree, I’m happy to hear this.

If you know Chuck, tell him to eat high grade Lecathin, it’s a brain super food( has much good fat) & omega 3 & 6 fish oils. No more booze or drugs either pleez.

    Get well Iceman.

Damn if the Iceman turns out Like Ali, its gonna be one fucking shame..He’ has definetly showed signs of his reflex slowing as well as not being able to take a shot like he used, = nothing good unfort. He’s never been my all time favourite, but I am a fan and wouldnt wish to see anyone go out with being Punch Drunk. Heal up an get back at er if ya can!!!
