With a win at UFC 100 over Thiago Alves Welterweight champion Georges St.Pierre will have pretty much wiped out the 170 pound division. There are a few interesting fights for him at Welterweight, but none that are immediate threats to St.Pierre. The winner of Martin Kampmann vs Mike Swick at UFC 103 could be a viable fight, but I want hear your thoughts on their chances in the comment section.

FoxSports.com’s Brian Oswald shared his thoughts on a possible move for St.Pierre with a win over Alves at UFC 100.

“If St-Pierre earns his 11th win in 12 fights, it would add more fuel to the fiery talk that he should move up to middleweight. Victory won’t come easy. Alves is a bigger welterweight than the champion, and also is better able than most to stymie St-Pierre’s takedown ability.
Clearing out the competition in a division convincingly is a prerequisite for moving up in weight class, and beating Alves likely would cement that.”

I know I don’t even need to ask if you who would want to see a Georges St.Pierre vs Anderson Silva “Super fight”, we all want to see that happen. The question here is do you want to see Georges move up to the 185 pound division with a win over Thiago Alves and do you think there is anyone today that could compete with him at Welterweight?
