A few weeks ago Anderson Silva made a comment about Mauricio Shogun Rua’s title shot against his team mate Lyoto Machida at UFC 104. Silva said he felt that Shogun did not deserve a title shot against Machida because he only had two consecutive wins in the Octagon.
Fighters Only Magazine got the scoop on Shogun’s response to Anderson Silva’s and pointed out that they were hypocritical since Silva got a shot in his second fight.
“I think his opinion is contrary but I won’t criticize him. If he criticized me there must be a reason, who knows? I’m calm because I never did anything bad to him. So if he says such things he is being unfair and it will be hard for him a day,” he said.
“Everybody should have respect in this sport because it’s not easy to train everyday. That’s the motive I respect everyone. It’s OK if he doesn’t respect me back. I don’t give a damn on his words. Even a parrot talks.”
Rua also gave his thoughts on how the fights pace will go and how he feels the pressure is on Lyoto Machida because he is the champion.
Shogun makes a good point on Anderson’s comments and I have a feeling we will hear a resonse from the Middleweight champion who has been on a roll lately making sure everyone knows how he feels.
Anderson needs to shut his big yap and worry about his own lame fights… I have lost all respect for him lately the way he has been running his mouth. I hope Forrest gets lucky and buries him.
Ya I agree Jet, then again Ive NEVER been a fan of Silva and consider him more of a product of the UFC hype machine then anything, yes that is my opinion lol. Never been impressed with him for some reason, then again everyone thought I was nuts a year or two ago for being a huge Lyoto fan
I can totally forsee Forest coming out on top as he always gives his all and seems to be the ‘upset/underdog’ guy who somehow pulls it out. Kinda like Nog in Pride. Off topic, the Tat on Rua’s left arm is one of the most Colorful Tats Ive EVER seen, damn, good job on it.
When Anderson was still at Chute boxe he brought both Rua bros into the chute boxe academy. I guess Anderson must have helped out alot to build up the team before the chute boxe management really stiffed him.
Hmm From what I understand Fujita, it was A. silva who had brought in the Ruas, but rather Wandy. Could be wrong on that but after looking at the wiki page for Chute box, leaves that impression as well. Either way I’ll take Maurico over Anderson anyday. Especially at LW, have to remember that Silva was a 170 fighter for a long while,a lthough he does do well moving up and down. Maurico when he’s on,is on. Silva to for that matter I guess. There was/is a huge history between Chute Box and BTT and the trainers which I think is stemming all the hate between the former teammates
@Chiggs, I’m not gonna argue that point cuz you very well could be right. But about Rua being a natural big guy. I’ve seen pics of him before he started the juice. He used to look like a bean pole.
