I thought this was a awesome picture that I had to have when I saw the Countdown to UFC 101: Declaration last night. BJ Penn in the intro is talking about what it takes to be a real champion the picture above is powerful, but so is the quote below.

“They say the true measure of a man is when he’s at his lowest, when he’s down at his worst at his worst moment. How does he stand up, how does he rise above? Especially if your a champion, you gotta stand up.”
I gained a lot more respect for BJ admitting he lost to GSP then I did watching him after UFC 94. Can’t wait to see if he can bounce back against Florian at UFC 101 this weekend.

In bj’s defense, he WAS still out cold when this picture was taken…he was out on his feet for most of the 3rd and all of the 4th…he was probably just trying to figure out if the fight was about to start or not…
In the second picture look at the back of his head he has a lump probably from a elbow
when BJ Penn said this on the countdown, you could really hear how sincere he was in the tone of his voice. he knows that this fight against KenFlo is SUPER important, he knows that he CAN’T lose this one. KenFlo better not fuck around, because BJ is gonna bring it.
@emorej, that is why as a GSP fan I actually grew a little more respect for him he is actually seeing that he needs to work hard to be the best not bitch the most
AND STILL..UFC LIGHTWEIGHT CHAMPION OF THE WORLD BJ “THE PRODIGY” PENN!!!! way to represent the islands, unfortunately he was the only islander to win that night. damn..
