Dana White has launched the first strike in what seems to be his first of many insults towards StrikeForce and Fedor Emelianenko after the Heavyweight champion decided not to sign with the UFC.
MMA FanHouse.com interviewed the UFC president who first aimed at StrikeForce calling them “Strike-Farce”.
“They have no money, no fighters. They’re a small-town show,” White said. “Cung Le hasn’t defended the title since like 1997. Josh Thomson hasn’t defended the belt in like two years. Who’s their other champion? Alistair Overeem? He hasn’t defended the belt in like two years. It’s Strike-Farce. It’s a little regional show with no one in it.”When White was asked what impact the signing of Fedor Emelianenko would have on StrikeForce he did not hesitate to say the he feels the Heavyweight champion will be looking for a new promotion soon.
White spoke about how the negotiations for Fedor fell through and he was miserable because he could not get the deal signed.
This should come as no surprise as White will now take all of the energy he used on EliteXC and Affliction and focus it on StrikeForce now. It appears that signing Fedor Emelianenko was a declaration of war to the UFC president.
Strike Force just sunk themselves by co-signing M1. M1 is gonna be like the brother in-law who drinks & eats you out of house home & your wife. Good job guys. All that glitters is not Fedor.
