Mauricio “Shogun” Rua is looking to keep the Light Heavyweight champion curse alive at UFC 104. Well, it’s not really a curse, but no one has defended the belt more then once since Chuck Liddell. Quinton “Rampage” Jackson’s win over Dan Henderson at UFC 75 was the last time the belt did not change hands when on the line.
Eduardo Ferreira of Tatame.comtook these pictures of Shogun training for his upcoming title bout against Lyoto Machida at UFC 104.
I’m rooting for Shogun to make it interesting atleast
This will be the test whether Rua really is Shogun or just past his peak. We’ll see if his game is back now. His last 2 wins were not convincing. In Pride he would have finished both guys as fast as Anderson finished Forrest. So far he is not impressing me.
Well it’s no doubt that when Shogun First stepped foot in the UFC he had some ring rust and his injuries didn’t help him out any in the past. But I do know he has the heart and confidence of a fucking ninja(NO JOKE) because he never back downs from a fight, he wants to fight the best and has beat some of the best. He is such a loyal and humble guy he has to be respected and feared! GO RUA
