It looks like Thales Leites and Tamdan McCrory are still employed by the UFC and not on the unemployment line as previously reported. It turns out that UFC president Dana White never knew about the decision to release both fighters.
According to Kevin Iole of Yahoo! Sports caught up to UFC president Dana White who stated both fighters would not be released and would return to the Octagon to fight.
“It turns out, though, that Leites still has a job with the UFC.Most fans were shocked when they found out about the release of Leites. some were even upset because Leites competed for Anderson Silva’s only 4 months ago. Others were happy when they remembered the performance Leites had only 4 months ago for the title.
We will keep you up to date as soon as we find out more on this News as soon as we hear anything.
I was surprised that both guys were released. Even though Thales was in two lackluster fights, he’s still got a winning record in the UFC. And McCrory is 3-3, but always puts on a show.
With the whole Strikeforce thing, I didn’t think the UFC would cut anybody who has been on or won on a main card.
It’d be neat to find out how this cutting business is taken care of. Do they have some of intricate formula they use to decide who gets cut or do they just draw names out of a hat?
I imagine that the keeping and picking up of talent will be used to fill Ultimate Fight Night cards to compete with Strikeforce. Wish they had something going on tomorrow as I don’t have a way to watch Strikeforce live.

Everyone needs a job & a paycheck eh. Even fighters on losing streaks. Too bad the ufc is the only game otherwise it wouldn’t matter & they could fight elsewhere, if they got bumped.

@Fujita, I used to like that Pride didn’t care win or lose as long as you showed up and tried to entertain you had a job
These guys may be down on there luck but there too young to watch them get good in Strikeforce and become good like Jorge Santiago is now
