Reports indicated earlier today that Lightweight Kyle Bradley has taken his name off of his UFC Fight Night 19 matchup with Sam Stout due to injury. Now it appears that former Ultimate Fighter season 8 runner-up Phillipe Nover will take Bradley’s place in the bout and remain on the show’s undercard portion.
MMAFanhouse.com was informed that Nover has accepted to take the fight against Stout in which he will now have four weeks to prepare for the bout which will be held at the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Nover who came up short in a unanimous decision loss to eventual Ultimate Fighter winner Efrain Escudero was also defeated by Kyle Bradley who he is now replacing back in the month of May at UFC 98 which was said to be believed as a controversial stoppage when referee Yves Lavigne stepped in to stop the bout while Nover was about to get back up on his feet.
Phillipe will now be looking to pick up his first UFC victory over the very tough veteran in Stout who picked up a unanimous decision victory over Matt Wiman in front of his fellow Canadians in Montreal, Quebec back at UFC 97 in the month of April which he also picked up an extra bonus for the “Fight of the Night” in the process.
UFC Fight Night 19 will feature another Lightweight bout with Nate Diaz set to take on Melvin ‘The Young Assassin’ Guillard in the main event which will also be live on Spike September 16.
