As the UFC 103 fight card from Dallas, Texas approaches it’s September 19 date the injury bug has now effected it as Lightweight Dan Lauzon will have to withdraw from his matchup with Rafaello Oliveira due to an injury of his back.

According to MMAWeekly.com a source says that Lauzon had hurt his back in a recent training session in preparation for the bout and will have an MRI done within the next few days to find out the full diagnosis of the ailment.

Lauzon’s contract was absorbed by the UFC after Affliction cut a deal with the organization to once again become their sponsor.

Lauzon and his opponent, Rafaello Oliveira were originally scheduled to compete on the Affliction “Trilogy” card on separate bouts with Lauzon facing former IFL prospect Chris Horodecki and Oliveira taking on former PRIDE Lightweight champion Takanori Gomi, but the promotion went down for good due to a series of events which started with main event headliner, Josh Barnett failing his pre-fight drug test before the proposed August 1 event.

There was no further information as to whether or not the UFC would be seeking out a replacement in Lauzon’s absence, but we will keep you posted if a change to the bout was made.
