Last night at M-1 Global’s “Breakthrough” card from the Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Kansas two of StrikeForce’s biggest acquisitions Fedor Emelianenko and Gegard Mousasi competed in a special exhibition bout where the two went at it in a very excellent display as the former PRIDE Heavyweight champion was able to come away with the submission victory over the new StrikeForce Light Heavyweight champion.
At last night’s broadcast which was on HDNet the two fighters and Red Devil teammates of course did not go at it full steam ahead with it just being an exhibition bout, but they were both able to display their top level skillsets.
Right away Fedor showed his power as he was able to pull throw after throw on Mousasi imposing his will on the Armenian standout, but Mousasi was able to connect on a throw of his own on Fedor in an attempt to turn the tide in his favor.
Mousasi went on to try and go for the submission on Fedor as he went for the armbar, but Emelianenko was able to escape out of the dangerous position as thay both got up to their feet to score some more throws on one another until Fedor was able to finish the bout with an armbar submission of his own as Mousasi taps out and once again Fedor is the winner making ‘The Last Emperor’ now 2-0 in special exhibition matchups.
In the end the crowd was able to accept in favor of the matchup as M-1 Global was able to make a successful show and fight card.
This was a waste of time to watch they were like horsing around it wasn’t serious it was like a Fedor and Mousasi promo
LOL
I think it was scripted Fedor was using these sick ass throws getting him in submissions then some how Mousasi escaped it looked bogus
