With tonight’s UFC Fight Night 19 event just about to get started within the next couple of hours the lightweight match-up between Phillipe Nover and Sam Stout has been canceled due to the fact that Nover suffered a seizure while relaxing inside the locker room from the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
The news was confirmed by UFC President Dana White on his Twitter saying that the bout was indeed canceled and that Stout was ok with what transpired and was classy as any other fighter.
However during an update on the report from MMAFanhouse.com a publicist for Tokyo Five jeans which is also a sponsor for Nover said that he was checked into a local hospital and was released sometime thereafter and checked out ok, but the doctors were still unable to clear him to take the fight.
So there will be one less fight on tonight’s card, but at least Nover was not hurt badly or suffered anything more severely and that is what counts for any fighter no matter who it is.
bummer for Nover. This could be a career killer.
