With the debut of season 10 for The Ultimate Fighter it was expected to get really good ratings ever since the announcement was made that former YouTube internet sensation Kimbo Slice was going to be amongst 15 other heavyweights vying for that six figure UFC contract, but the premiere of the reality series did more than just good as they set a ratings record with 4.1 million viewers watching to net an eye-popping 5.3 rating.

Spike TV officials gave out the report on a press release earlier this evening as it surpassed the previous high for the show which was The Ultimate Fighter season 3 finale back in 2006 which had 2.8 million viewers.

The show which aired on the 10 pm time slot beat out the likes of “The Jay Leno Show” and the season finale of “America’s Got Talent” amongst many other programs as TUF 10 scored big time amongst the young male demographics of ages 18-24, 18-34, 18-49 and ages 25-34. The show also scored 3.2 million viewers in the co-gender demographic of ages 18-49 in the process.

So, it is going to be very, very interesting to see what the ratings will look like when Kimbo Slice has his turn to compete for the right to become The Ultimate Fighter. Any thoughts?

Yo Rick Johnson, what do you bet Kimbo will get the same pay as Brock, whether he wins or loses Tuf 10. I recall Dana saying that Kimbo could or will end up being the highest paid mma star. Sumpin like that.
