Former UFC middleweight Lee Murray who was involved in one of the biggest heists in the history of the world will now be having a movie of his life story which of course includes the Securitas depot robbery of 2006 in Tonbridge, Kent in the UK where a reported 92 million dollars was stolen. The movie which will be a heist thriller will be directed by Darren Aronofsky who has made movies such as “Requiem for A Dream” and “The Wrestler” with Mickey Rourke as “Randy the Ram”.

According to MMAFanhouse.com the movie on worlds biggest robbery in history which was written by Jon Wertheim of Sports Illustrated will have screenwriter, Kerry Williamson working on the script as Aronofsky talks about how he always wanted to do such a film in this type of setting.

“The story is a very unique British heist tale with colorful London characters,” Aronofsky said in a statement. “I’ve always wanted to shoot in England and Kerry is the perfect writer to bring authenticity to this outrageous true bank job.”

Murray who was the supposed mastermind of this great heist had a career Mixed Martial Arts recordĀ  of 8-2-1 was a one time competitor in the UFC where he defeated Jorge Rivera at UFC 46 back in January of 2004 and has also had last career fight against current UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva in which was in defeat.

However, ‘Lightning’ Lee will always be remembered for what he did outside of the cage as he fled to Morocco where he was ultimately arrested just four months later and had a brief release this past June, but has since been brought back into custody where trial awaits.

There has been no date as to when the film will be released at this time, but we will find out as soon as word has broken on the project as soon as possible.
