Earlier this afternoon at a media conference call other blogs, publications and websites got the opportunity to ask Ultimate Fighter season 10 contestant Kimbo Slice some questions mainly about his upcoming performance this coming Wednesday night on Spike when he takes on former IFL heavyweight champion Roy Nelson. However, when Kimbo was asked about a recent blog posting from Seth Petruzelli who is the man to hang the first loss of the Slice man’s career had a response to Petruzelli’s previous comments and said he was never offered a rematch.
“Seth needs to be careful now because we both live in the same backyard, and I know that little sissy ice cream shop (he owns), I can walk in at any given time and go, ‘Yo, what’s up, man?’” Ferguson said after MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) told him about Petruzelli’s comments. “No one ever approached me with no rematch with Seth, and I never turned that [expletive] down. That right there is B.S. bull [expletive]. … It didn’t happen.”
Petruzelli has been in touch with UFC matchmaker Joe Silva to someday make a return to the organization where he was also a contestant on The Ultimate Fighter (season 2) and Kimbo added that if the UFC wants to make that fight happen he will take it with open arms.
“If Seth signed with the UFC, and if Dana (White) and them want to match it up, damn right I’ll run it again with him,” Ferguson said. “We don’t even need to do it in a ring. We can do it bare-knuckle style because I don’t like liars. I’ve never turned down a rematch with anybody. Anyone I fought, I’ll fight them again.
“It ain’t personal. It’s just the fact that it’s bull [expletive]. No one ever said, ‘Hey Kimbo, do you want to rematch Seth?’ and I was like, ‘No.’ I’ve never said no to nothing. Not like that. Not to him.”
This is the first time Kimbo has got word on this blog posting where he didn’t have anything to say about the fight except that he was over the whole thing, but still kept firm that he would never turn down a rematch with Petruzelli.
“I’m thinking I’ve got no reason to shut up this guy because he hasn’t been talking [expletive],” Ferguson said. “But since you’re the first one that’s told me that this man has posted up something saying that I’ve denied a rematch with him three times – come on, man. Are you for real?”
And when asked about his fight with TUF 10 favorite Roy Nelson, Slice says that he did well and had nothing to complain about it.
“I was impressed with my performance,” Ferguson said. “I’m not crying about anything.”
Hopefully, that fight with Kimbo and Petruzelli will go down in the Octagon someday to finally squash the hooplah, but we are now just a few short days away for perhaps the biggest show in Ultimate Fighter history and I am dying to know what happens after that screen shot of Kimbo connecting with Nelson’s jaw, so what do you think?
