It looks like the next big prospect has signed with StrikeForce over the UFC as free agent heavyweight Muhammed ‘King Mo’ Lawal has signed with the San Jose, California based promotion on a multi-fight contract which will continue to allow the 28 year old fighter to continue competing overseas in Japan where he will be competing on the Sengoku XI card in November.
Sherdog.com reports that a source close to the negotiations say King Mo could possibly make his StrikeForce debut in the month of December.
Lawal (5-0) has won four of his five MMA bouts under the Sengoku banner and his last win came over former UFC and PRIDE veteran Mark Kerr where he only needed 25 seconds to finish that fight at M-1 Global “Breakthrough” in the month of August.
King Mo who has fought the majority of his fights at heavyweight, but could possibly be a contender to face light heavyweight champion Gegard Mousasi down the line with of course a very impressive performance in his promotional debut as he will now be walking down the aisle with his crown and ladies behind en route to becoming a future champion in his new MMA home.
We will keep you posted as soon as StrikeForce announces an opponent for King Mo’s first fight with the organization.

Wow, that one took my by surprise good signing for Strikeforce I am glad we will see Mo in the U.S fighting.
Ya, on that MMA live show you put up, Ken=flo’s partner is close to Mo. & Mo tried to get into the ufc & I guess Joe Silva said to Mo point blank ” We don’t want another Sokoju “. When I first heard this I thought it sounded pretty racist. But Mo was very insulted by this & rightfully so.
I wouldn’t call that racist. They were talking about signing someone based on hype from a couple of wins. He doesn’t even have big wins. At least Sokoudjou beat Rogerio Noguiera and Arona. The biggest win on King Mo’s resume is Mark Kerr.
If he does good in Strikeforce, the UFC will sign him. Strikeforce looks at him as a marketing tool right now because of his bravado and I hope he can use that to his advantage and get some big wins under his belt.
