A late addition has been tabbed for the UFC 108 fight card as welterweights Jake Ellenberger (21-5) and Mike Pyle (19-6) will be facing one another at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on January 2, 2010 on pay-per-view.

According to MMAJunkie.com both fighters have a verbal agreement in place with bout agreements to be signed right after that.

Coming into his Octagon debut, Jake Ellenberger had won four straight fights and met up with former WEC welterweight champion Carlos Condit last month at UFC Fight Night 19 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and was very close to finishing the fight early in the first round as he was laying out the ‘Natural Born Killer’ with multiple knockdowns, but faltered in the later rounds to lose by close split decision.

As for Mike Pyle, the Xtreme Couture trained fighter who signed with the organization just days before the UFC 98 card in May was submitted by Brock Larson in his debut, but was able to bounce back by submitting Chris Wilson at the UFC Fight Night 19 last month as well and will look for his second straight UFC win while Ellenberger will look to pick up his first in the process.

Stay tuned as more fights have been announced for future UFC fight cards.

I’m rooting for Ellenberger here he was great against Condit I thought he pulled it out but you know how the.scorecards go some times

I like Ellenberger too if he would have kept it standing against Condit he would have been able to win that fight. His boxing looks sound and he packs a lot of power in his overhand right. If he works on his ground and pound he can make it up to the top of the 170 lb food chain.
