Tim Sylvia to Fight Either Alistair Overeem or Hong Man Choi at Dynamite

With the DREAM and K-1 promotions looking to bolster their New Year’s Eve Dynamite card, one fighter that will be competing is former UFC heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia (25-6) making his DREAM debut and may have two opponents in the running for his upcoming bout.

Sylvia’s manager, Monte Cox confirmed the news to MMAFanhouse.com saying that ‘The Maine-iac’ has a verbal agreement in place and could face either current StrikeForce heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem or the 7′2″ Korean Hong Man Choi.

However, Cox says that he would prefer his client to face Hong Man Choi over Alistair Overeem.

“We’re still trying to make a comeback, so I think he and Choi be the best match-up,” Cox said.

“Wow, two monsters. That would be fun.”

Sylvia snapped a previous three fight losing streak which started in the UFC in his last Octagon outing against Antonio ‘Minotauro’ Nogueira than to Fedor Emelianenko at Affliction “Banned”, but the worst of them all was to former pro-boxer Ray Mercer at an Adrenaline card this past June.

Still, Sylvia managed to pick up a first round TKO win over Jason Riley at Adrenaline IV last month and will now look to continue to keep that streak going with either Choi or Overeem, but if Sylvia is looking to get back in the UFC he should fight Overeem due to the fact that a win would bring his stock value up a lot better than it is now. Don’t you think so?
