With the UFC 108 event in January of 2010 looking very stacked up from top to bottom with the exception of a main event match-up there is an interesting bout taking place in the light heavyweight division with contenders Thiago Silva taking on former 205 pound title holder Rashad Evans on the card’s co-main event and this is a match-up that would have the winner either getting a shot at the title or getting very close to it as Thiago Silva will follow one of two ways to get passed this fight which is “kill or die”.
In a new interview with GracieMag.com Silva who has respect for the fighting style of Rashad Evans says that he plans on keeping the former champion neutralized in order to come away with yet another big win in his UFC career and can only define that in a few short words.
This fight may have some animosity brewing between the two as Silva who last fought at UFC 102 this past August knocked out Evans best friend and teammate, Keith Jardine who both are trained under Greg Jackson, but the two opponents have one thing in common which is their lone career MMA defeat at the hands of current UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida.
Still, Thiago believes that a win over Rashad could put him in line for a title shot and if that does not happen to be the case then he is fine with that also.
The best possible strategy for both fighters would consist of Rashad Evans going back to his bread and butter which is his wrestling, but his style may backfire as Silva has a very underrated ground and pound should he get on top of Evans if the opportunity presents itself.
What do you think is the key for Evans and Silva to win the UFC 108 co-main event battle?

Thiago is a good fighter but he’s not on Rashads level yet and he is going to get taken down at will
