Earlier today the Nevada State Athletic Commission has granted a fighting license to current UFC light heavyweight Houston Alexander which points to a rumored 215 pound catch-weight bout with Kimbo Slice taking place at The Ultimate Fighter “Heavyweights” finale in December from Las Vegas where the event will be held at the Pearl from the Palms Casino & Resort. Still, no formal announcement has been made of the bout as of yet.
NSAC Executive Director Keith Kizer has confirmed to MMAJunkie.com that Alexander has stated his case with the board and has been given his license to fight in the “Silver State” once again.
Alexander recently snapped a recent three fight losing streak in the UFC via the Adrenaline MMA promotion in the month of September when he picked up a first round TKO victory over one time UFC vet Sherman Pendergarst as ‘The Assassin’ was also given permission by UFC matchmaker Joe Silva to take the fight outside of his current deal with the promotion in the first place.
However, Houston has not further officially confirmed as to who his opponent will be, but in all likelihood it will be Kimbo Slice as a formal announcement will be made very shortly and the specualtion should finally end with the UFC saying that Alexander and Slice will indeed be locking horns at the TUF 10 season finale which will be live on Spike.
Stay tuned!
Dana must feel generous to be putting this on spike like this. We all know it’s gonna end in less than 2 minutes but I figured it would be main card worthy for a ppv atleast.
