One welterweight fighter that has been making some waves is Dan Hornbuckle who fights under the Sengoku promotion overseas in Japan and in his two appearances has finished off the likes of former PRIDE and UFC veteran Akihiro Gono and Nick ‘The Goat’ Thompson in devastating fashion. However, Hornbuckle admits that the best fighters in the world are in the UFC, but also says that he would like to make an immediate impact by calling out other top welterweights such as Josh Koscheck or Jon Fitch.
In an article out of Fighters Only Magazine Hornbuckle states that he would very much like to be in the UFC, but is looking to get in a few more fights before making a move to compete in the best MMA organization in the world today.
“So yeah, we’ll be fighting in the UFC soon. What’s holding me back right now is that I need to get a few more fights in against top-level opposition. “
Hornbuckle says that once he is UFC bound in the near future, he would like to face a top ten ranked welterweight fighter right away for his debut fight and would like to face either Josh Koscheck or his American Kickboxing Academy teammate Jon Fitch in order to let the promotion know that he is the real deal.
Well, as long as Hornbuckle continues to open eyes as he has been doing recently for Sengoku out in Japan then it will definitely be a priority for UFC President Dana White and matchmaker Joe Silva making sure that they pick up the Native American born fighter to compete inside the Octagon sometime within the next year or so.
What do you think?
Hornbuckle is a sloppy fighter the only reason he looks good is cause he the Japanese fighters suck at striking he should fight Marius Zamorakis then see he is no where near ufc ready
hahaha if this guy calls out fitch his career is over.
